We publish essays, analysis, Sabbath School commentary and replies by Adventists in Africa and the diaspora.
What we look for
- A clear argument in one of our streams: African theology, church history, current issues, or church and society.
- Or a Sabbath School commentary: a short reading of the week’s lesson from African experience, with questions for a class.
- Essays of 1,000 to 2,000 words, written for a thoughtful general reader.
- Analysis that offers a way forward as well as naming the problem.
Good to know
- Pen names. If writing under your own name would put your work at risk, tell us. The editors will know who you are; readers need not.
- Republishing. We can republish a piece of yours that first appeared elsewhere, with credit to the original publisher.
- Languages. Write in English, French or Portuguese. Readers can translate any page with their browser.
Send your idea
Email a few sentences about your idea, and the stream it belongs to, to the editors at contact@adventistbaobab.org. Please do not send the full essay until we reply.
